Freya Surf was created from a shared belief that surfing can be more than just lessons in the water. Founded by Sofia and Anas, a couple building this place together, Freya Surf was shaped by a desire to create something rooted in care, safety and humanity — a space where people feel seen, respected and at home, both in and out of the ocean. After years of experience in surfing, hospitality and people-focused work, Freya Surf officially began in 2026. What started as a simple idea has grown into a place guided by values rather than trends. Freya Surf is built for the long term — for the people who work here, the guests who visit, and the ocean that surrounds us.

We care deeply about human wellbeing, both physical and mental, and about the health of our planet for generations to come. By respecting both our differences and what unites us, we aim to create a safe, open space where everyone feels welcome and respected.

The ocean is unpredictable, and so is life. We can’t control the weather or everything that happens around us — but we can always choose honesty.
We are transparent about what we can and cannot offer, and we never promise more than we can deliver. Mistakes may happen, but when they do, we own them. With openness, accountability and respect.
How does our values show up in everyday life?
At Freya Surf, our values are part of everyday decisions — big and small.
We believe people do their best work when they can be themselves. That’s why we don’t have a dress code. Clean, comfortable and confident is enough.
Respect is non-negotiable. We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Discrimination, racism, antisemitism, homophobia or sexism have no place at Freya Surf. This applies to both guests and team members — and boundaries are enforced to protect the wellbeing of all.
And finally, we believe in fair and responsible working conditions. All team members receive a living wage and paid vacation days in accordance with labour law.
Who is Freya?
Freya is named after the Norse goddess Freya — often associated with love, strength, care and connection. She is also known to be accompanied by two cats.
Freya represents a meeting of worlds — love and courage, softness and strength, people and place. The cats in her stories felt like a quiet, familiar detail rather than a symbol to explain — a reminder that warmth, presence and companionship matter.
In many ways, the name reflects what we are creating: a place built on connection, humanity and trust, where professionalism and care go hand in hand.
